COVID-19 Vaccine

COVID-19 vaccines are approved for use for 6 months and up.  The Macon County Health Department currently has vaccines for all approved ages.

To make an appointment, call 660-395-4711 or request an appointment and we will call you back.

COVID-19 vaccines are a safe and effective way to reduce severe illness, hospitalization, and death due to COVID-19 illness.  Vaccines continue to be free for everyone, regardless of insurance status.

To your appointment, we ask you to bring your vaccination card to update, a photo ID, and an insurance card, if you have it.  We are able to charge your insurance for an administration fee associated with giving the vaccine, but that charge will never be passed on to you.

The CDC recommends a booster dose for ages 5 and up 5 months after the initial series is complete for both Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

The CDC updated it’s recommendation to allow certain immunocompromised individuals and people over the age of 50 to receive a second booster 4 months after their initial booster.

If you have any questions about the COVID-19 vaccine, your eligibility, or recommendations, call and speak to one of our knowledgable health department nurses who can answer any questions you may have at 660-395-4711
